Monuments

There are several basic styles of monuments, each having their personal strengths and weaknesses. Along with the distinct properties, certain cemeteries and grounds-keepers only allow a distinct style of monument. It is best to read up on the different styels offered, and then contact the grounds-keeper to see what styles are available for you to choose from.

Upright:

The most basic of upright monuments has two parts to it. The base, and the actual monument that sits upon the base. With the upright style of monument you can then branch out and have different shapes of monument to put on the base, or even have a large base, with multiple upright stones upon a shared base.

With each upright stone, you can select from a polished surface, or a rough surface.

Bevel

The bevel style is a long, and flat stone, with a very slight slant to it. It can sit flush with the ground, or on top of a concrete foundation.

The engraving space is limited as compared to an upright, due to the fact that you only have one plane of the monument to work with.

Slant

The slant monument is roughly shaped like a right triangle, with a verticle back, and the slanted face being the front.

These monuments can be extreemly heavy, and without the proper equipment hard to move. However a very nice thing about them being this bulky, is that they are extremely hard to be vandalized.
